Whenever
possible, fax us or provide us with a black &
white print-out of what your file is supposed to look
like.
Most programs will allow you to "embed"
fonts when you save your file; this ensures that any
font that is not on our system will print the same
as is does on yours. If your program does not support
this feature, please INCLUDE ALL NON-STANDARD FONTS
with your files.
Although PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format)
is the safest way to go when outputting digital media,
we still ask that you provide us with a black &
white (faxed) copy of what the file is supposed to
look like. (Yes, even PDF's have their little quirks!)
Avoid low-resolution graphics (ie below 72
dpi). They will print out very "bitmapped"
and unattractive.
NEVER try to make a lower resolution image
bigger. They will print out horribly bitmapped. The
best tip: scan your image at a higher resolution,
then DECREASE it to the size you require.
RIP (Rasterised Imaging Process) charges vary
from one software program to another (some RIP much
slower than another), and we encourage you to contact
us to get a quote so there are "no surprises"
when you get your bill. Larger files (ie multi-page
Powerpoint Presentations) tend to RIP much slower
than single page documents. RIP charges vary from
$5 to $15 dollars per file.
On larger jobs, in most cases we will waive
the RIP charge altogether.
And the best tip of all: If you're at all unsure
about your file CALL US! We're here to help.
